Official language is English

The excursion will start and finish in Wroclaw, capital town of the Lower Silesia region in the south-western part of Poland.
The first two days we will spend on the Silesian Lowland visiting sites with soils developed on glacial materials (cover sands on till, deep glacio-fluvial sands etc.) and on eolian silt - loess (Trzebnica Hills). The third day we will travel south from Wroclaw, through the isolated Mt. Sleza ("The Silesian Olympus") to the Sudety Mountains, at the border to the Czech Republic. An all-day walking tour on Friday will start on the summit of the Karkonosze Mountains main ridge (Polish-Czech Bilateral Biosphere Reserve) and end in Karpacz at the foothills. How to get to Wroclaw
By plane
Wroclaw has good connections with nearly all European countries, directly or via Frankfurt, Munich or Warsaw. You can use both, regular airlines (Lufthansa, SAS, LOT) and low-cost airlines (Ryanair, Wizzair). Wroclaw airport is still enlarged, in September 2011 the opening of a new airport terminal is planned.
By train
Wroclaw is easily available by train - has many direct connections with Dresden, Prague, Berlin, Warsaw, and Krakow. However, due to extensive modernization of railways in Poland and total reconstruction of Wroclaw main railway station, travelling by train may be connected with some inconveniences. We recommend it for patient and tolerant people...
By car
You can easily get to Wroclaw by car from Berlin (340 km), Dresden (270 km) or Krakow (270 km) using new motorways (still free of charge in 2011). However, we do not recommend car excursion from other directions, particularly from Warsaw and Prague (necessary motorways are still under construction or only planned).

Poland is a member of the European Union and the Schengen Agreement for free travel.
